How online slots work

A slot is a set of reels carrying symbols. You choose a stake, the round starts, the reels stop, and the symbols that land are compared against the game's paytable. Every stop is produced by a random number generator that is independent of what happened before, so a result is never "due" and past rounds tell you nothing about the next one.

The paytable inside each game explains what the symbols do, how many lines or ways to win the game uses, and how features such as wilds, scatters and free rounds are triggered. Games also publish a return to player percentage, which is a long-run theoretical average measured over a very large number of rounds — it is not a prediction of a session and it does not mean a particular amount comes back to you.

Set your stake before you start, decide in advance how long you want to play, and use the deposit, loss and time limits in Player Controls. Slots are entertainment, not income.
